Help & Advice: Babies rash |
|
| Hello I would like to ask if there is anything I could do to help my 2 months old baby with a rash on her cheeks. When she was born, she had a beautifully nurished complection however at about 6 weeks when she started putting a hand in her mouth and began to dribble, a small patch of rash appeared around her mouth. I though that it was because of all the dribbling however then the rash spread all over her cheeks and down on to her chest. The rash seems to improve / worsen from day to day (sometimes it looks as if it is disappering only to find the following day that it is all red again). I first thought that it may be a sign of eczema as I suffer from an eczema myself however my baby does not sratch herself and is not that all bothered by the rash. Could you advise if there is anything I could apply on to her face to help with the healing of her skin? At the moment her complection is a bit dry as a result of the rash and she also has very dry pathes in her scalp.
Thank you very much for your help. I will appreciate your advice.
Regards

| The fact that your babies rash has spread over her face and chest suggests the dribbling is unlikely to be the cause though it may aggravate it. Many skin eruptions are the result of the body’s natural tendency to heal itself pushing unwanted debris out to the surface where it can cause irritation and discomfort. Sometimes this can get infected causing still more irritation. Suppression with drugs or hydrocortisone is not the answer. Homoeopaths believe that we all inherit certain tendencies from our parents and grandparents and these can cause disruption to our health levels at certain times during our lives. As you suffer from eczema this may be contributory but this predisposition can be removed with constitutional homoeopathic treatment so I would suggest you find a homoeopath near you to begin this. Meanwhile you could use calendula cream to soothe the skin or Ti tree cream if you are concerned about infection. Oil her with chickweed oil after her bath or after washing. Keep her skin oiled to prevent it drying out. This is safe and will feed the skin. You could try giving her some sulphur 12x (homoeopathic remedy) night and morning for 10 days to see if this will help clear her skin but to continue this sort of treatment you will need some homoeopathic guidance. Everything I have recommended is very safe for babies so feel confident in what you do. You can get the oil from our web site but you will need to telephone us if you require the homoeopathic remedy. Let me know if this helps her.
