Help & Advice: Baby with dry skin |
|
| My baby is 7 months old and his cheeks are usually a bit dry and slightly red as he is teething. I use an emolient bath additive and Oilatum cream after his bath. From yesterday I have noticed that his cheeks are more red and have developed a rash. What can I use to get rid of the rash and to make his cheeks become smooth again? Many thanks. Rameni |

| Hello Rameni,
I suggest you try Rose Seed Hip oil on his cheeks or borage seed oil. Both would help to keep your babies skin supple and nourished. Use often but especially after washing or bathing. I am not so sure about Oilatum as it contains liquid parafin which is a mineral oil. I prefer plant oils as I think it is better for delicate skin. Chamomilla is a very useful homoeopathic remedy which will help him get through the teething perticulary if he gets distressed. Avoid using things like calpol if possible as it can trigger an inflammatory response in tissue. If the rash continues he may need a more constitional remedy. We offer an on-line homeopathic treatment service if you need it.Simply go to our Homoeopathy on-line section in the menu and follow instructions. |
