Dear Sarah
Any mother having to look after 3 children and holding down a new job would no doubt put anybody under quite a bit of pressure. Let alone having to adapt to a new home and a new pace of life.
Civvy street is quite different to military life particularly if you have been used to living on base. If this translates into stress then your biochemistry will reflect this and put a strain on your system.
Your organs of elimination would have to work harder and this could quite feasibly aggravate your skin condition. As you have had it for so long I would certainly recommend Homoeopathic treatment combined with some stress management training as a long term approach.
Any homoeopath worth their salt would be able to adapt the remedy strength so you were not so badly aggravated. The fact that you had a reaction in the first place suggests your system is sensitive to that kind of healing stimulus so I think the prognosis would be promising.
DIET
Diet is an important consideration in all kinds of skin complaints. The chance of developing gallstones can also be reduced with diet. I would suggest a high alkaline low acid diet. Surprisingly lemon juice is highly alkaline after the body has processed it so I would recommend a squeeze of the juice in warm water on rising, at lunch time and evening meal.
To state the obvious drink plenty of fresh water during the day. Cut out meat (fish is ok occasionally) for 12 weeks, increase your fresh vegetable intake, both raw and cooked. Cut out all saturated fats. Use plenty of olive and flaxseed oil on your Veg and salads.
Do not eat any processed foods or drink orange juice, coffee, tea or alcohol for 12 weeks. Drink herb teas such as chamomile, mint and green tea and off course lemon in warm water. Keep off sugar (little bit manuka active honey is ok as a sweetener.
Keep away from hard cheeses, and cows milk. Use Soya, rice and goats milk instead. Use Soya and linseed bread or whole grain rye bread instead of plain white flower bread. Now if you can manage this it will make a difference to your biochemistry and you will start feeling better. It will also take the burden of your skin.
RECOMMENDATION
To help the process I would recommend Berberis tincture 3ml in water 3x daily for 3 weeks to help clean the gall bladder and detox the liver followed by nettle tincture 5ml 3x daily for 3 weeks to help clean the blood and increase bio-available iron, potassium, calcium, silica and vit C.
Repeat this process for at least 12 weeks. Apply chickweed oil liberally to the skin when ever it feels dry or itchy and especially after bathing or water on hands. Chickweed cream is also good for skin especially at night.
If the skin breaks use Ti Tree cream at night instead to prevent infection.
RELAX
We all experience 90 to 120 minute ultradian rhythms during our day meaning that every 90 to 120 minutes we need to take time out for 10 to 20 m minutes to allow our system to replenish cells and clear out rubbish accumulated during our active periods. Few do this preferring to push on using coffee and other stimulants or using excuses of some sort to keep going overriding their natural rhythm and so missing their rejuvenating points.
If you take these quiet periods where you just let yourself relax, breath and turn inwards observing your racing mind or impulse to complete unfinished business as if you were a spectator.
Give your self permission to just be and replenish and over time you will notice a very specific effect – your energy and clarity of mind will increase! I know its not easy to take time out on a regular basis particularly with small children and sometimes you just wont be able to do it but make an effort to do so when ever you can every 90 to 120 minutes. It will pay you back far more than the time you take out of your busy life to do it!
I hope this helps. Please let me know how you get on.
