Help & Advice: IBS

I have had irritable bowel syndrome for years, I am now 54, it has lately flared up leaving me with colicky pains in my right side and strangely a vague feeling like a cold trying to come out in my nasal passages. I wondered if it could be some sort of allergy.

IBS is often related to over active parasympathetic nervous system and indicates a stress related condition. Allergies are also related to over activity but this time in the immune system.

My suggestion for you would be to find a relaxation/meditation teacher/class and practice learning to lower your stress levels. Alternatively go and see a homoeopath in your area as they will be able to help.

There are a number of tinctures that would help you so look in our positive medicine shop to see if you can find something that may help with the pain. I would recommend chamomile tincture and magnesium phos remedy.
