| Dear Victoria
Inflammation of the lid margins is thought to be caused by staphylococcal infection but I would suggest that this infection occurs because of the breakdown of cells on the lid margins allowing the natural bacteria on the body through the protective layer of skin.
Because this bacterium is in the wrong place the body activates an immune response causing more dust and disturbance around this area.
Antibiotic ointment may well help to keep the infection to a manageable level but it will not remove the reason for the cellular breakdown which has allowed the infection to take hold in the first place. To help your body to cure itself of this distressing condition I would suggest you tackle it from both sides. That is from within as well as from without.
To help reduce infection without aggravating the lids I would suggest eye baths of Euphrasia organic tincture diluted 2-3 drops to an eye bath of water three times daily followed by a gentle dabbing with a tight weave cotton cloth followed by a gentle rubbing in of calendula organic oil all around and over the closed eye lids.
Keep some calendula oil with you so you can apply it frequently during the day as required. Obviously wash your hands well before and after doing so in order not to spread infection.
Working from within I would suggest you make sure your diet consists of at least 80% alkaline foods, drink plenty of water and take omega 3 with each meal. Go on a 6 week liver and blood cleansing regime using Urtica dioca organic tincture (nettle juice) 5 mill mixed with 5 mill of Tarraxacum organic tincture (dandelion juice) taken in water 3 times daily before meals for 6 to 12 weeks.
This is all available in our Positive Medicine on-line Shop.
To prescribe homoeopathically which would give a boost your whole system I would need to know much more about you however you could take some Sulphur 6x 3 times a day for 10 days as this is often useful in these cases. It may help but if not it certainly will do you no harm.
Best of health
