Traditional Background
Rose has been valued for centuries for its fragrance and gentle nature. Rose Damask is believed to have originated in Persia (modern-day Iran) and was later cultivated extensively in Bulgaria from the 16th century onwards. Roses have traditionally been used in perfumery, skincare and aromatic waters across many cultures.
The Persian physician and scholar Avicenna (Abu Ali Sina) is credited with developing early distillation methods that allowed rose water to be produced from fresh petals, referring to it as the “essence of roses”.
Traditional & Contemporary Context
Rose flower water has traditionally been used in aromatic and personal-care practices to uplift the senses and promote a feeling of calm and comfort. Its soft fragrance has long been associated with relaxation and emotional wellbeing in traditional use.
How to Use
Spray lightly onto the face or skin as required.
May also be used as a room or linen spray to gently scent and refresh the space.
